We have made it through the Gobi desert with little more than a puncture, the scenery was spectacular though the attrition rate was fairly high, quite a few cars came out on the back of lorries, The game was choose a track and follow a bearing and the car went very well, she loves the loose surfaces and soaks up most of the bumps, thankfully nothing dropped off so maintenance was the order of today.
John set off this morning to get a puncture fixed and ended up being escorted round Ulaan Bataar to find all sorts of kit, the chap took him all over the place including to his mother’s, and wouldn’t take a penny, I think he was just enjoying the ride.
As for me I put some more pictures on Flickr, though I have got the order wrong, I’ve missed out a set which I will rectify soon. I also managed to break my glasses, my shades are in one piece so let’s have sun all the way home. But the best thing is that the sheepskin jacket I bought 18 months ago is now usable, I bought it off Ebay and when it turned up it smelled like the inside of a tart’s handbag for three days and on the fourth day it started smelling like it had been washed in fag ash. So I gave it to Tappit (black Lab) who slept on it for a year, but managed to put a small hole in it. The small hole got larger in the back of the Bentley, and today I found a lady opposite the hotel who sewed it up in 40 minutes for five quid, and what a lovely job she has done. She asked me to bring her any other work I could, so the best I can do is recommend her to you all: she’s in a downstairs shop opposite the Genghis Khan Hotel in Ulaan Bataar, she’s very nice and tell her the long haired blond guy sent you.
We will be camping for the next five days, so there will be no updates until then by which time there should be some words and a heap of photos.

Oy! You’re 25 hours behind the leader of your class – are you sleeping on the job or just overly concerned about the tart’s handbag?
Fact: 0.5% of the worlds population is related to Genghis Kahn. Make sure you don’t join the numbers.
Good to hear the car is going well.
Rainy in Northumberland today
Best wishes.
